Every Access & Design Electric, LLC Kohler generator preventative maintenance includes:
- Survey overall condition of generator and transfer switch.
- Inspect air filter.
- Inspect intake and exhaust systems.
- Inspect lubricating oil level. Add oil as required.
- Inspect radiator and cooling system. Add coolant as required.
- Inspect accessory drive belts.
- Inspect fuel lines and hoses for pliability and leaks.
- Inspect fuel oil transfer pump and float system of day tank, where applicable (excludes main diesel storage tanks).
- Inspect electrical connections, clean as required.
- Inspect battery charger as required.
- Inspect battery age. Recommend replacement of battery at three (3) year intervals.
- Vacuum and clean unit as needed.
- Run unit and verify proper AC voltage and frequency. Adjust as required.
- Inspect automatic transfer switch (ATS) when possible.
- Run unit under load, when possible (authorization required).
- Verify that generator exerciser is set and operational.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES PROVIDED AT AN ADDITIONAL COST:
- Remove oil and oil filter, replace all with new.
- Remove fuel filters, replace with new where applicable.
- Remove air filter and replace with new as required.
- Remove spark plugs and replace with new as required.
- Inspect and adjust valve lash as required.
- Inspect slip rings and brushes, clean and polish as required.
- Verify that generator and ATS are in standby (automatic) mode.
If any of the above need’s replacement, (other than oil filter, and spark plugs), the customer will be responsible for the labor and materials for those items and an estimate will be provided.
